Saturday evening I went to Grayson Stadium with my friend, Lon, to watch the game between the Sand Gnats and the Kannapolis Intimidators. Prior to the heavy rains postponing the game, Lon went down to the first base gate to get a baseball autographed by Sand Gnat players. Unexpectedly, Gnats second baseman, Alonso Harris, gave Lon a Louisville Slugger bat. Lon was surprised and thankful. It was a nice gesture by Alonso.
